Summer Holidays, Yippee!!!!!

Friday 26th June

Hello!
Summer holidays!!!! Yippee!!!!
I am sure everybody is enjoying their summer holidays! Although you started your holidays from school last Friday. Maybe that is the reason why only Raúl, César, Sara and Lucía came to class yesterday.

Raúl said goodbye because he is going to a different school next year and he won’t be with us.

We played ‘pairs’ with daily routines.
We played ‘bingo’ with clothes.
We wrote a postcard to our classmates.

We watched and read two stories from audio books. You can watch more of these books and stories and practise this summer.

In class, we watched ‘The Four friends’

And ‘Tucket, the bucket’.

The winner of our last games was…César!!! Congratulations!!!

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!

ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS!

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

Games, Project, Games, Summer, Holidays!!!

Friday 19th June

Hello everybody!
I know you are happy because…you are on holiday!!!!

Last Friday, we started revising the assessment test we had done.
They are very good, in general. But it seems to me that you have problems with the order of the words in the sentence. You can practise playing games where you have to order the words. I’m sure you will do it this summer!

We told your parents about the video you recorded for Design for Change. You told them, try to tell them, about the project we had done.
Everything started with Ángela’s idea.

First, you wrote on post it cards the things you didn’t like in your neighbourhood, school, academy…

Then you voted for an idea. That idea was covering a hollow (hole, gap) space in the girls’ toilet because it wasn’t nice. You drew a poster and everybody worked together. But, before that we measured the space and we asked the director for a long piece of paper to make our poster…
There was a problem: it was too long! But you cut out some of the pictures and paste them again in a different place of the poster to make it shorter and tadam!

After that, we played games and…the class finished!
See you next Friday and we will know who the winner of our last games is!

Bye! Bye!

An Assessment Test and...Dracula!

Friday 12th June

Hi everybody!

Eva, David, where were you on Friday? Well, I know David was at a birthday party. And…what about you, Eva? Where were you?Is everybody having fun at the weekend? I hope so!

What did we do on Friday?

First, Ángela told us about Bram Stoker.
Did you know that he wrote ‘Dracula’?
‘Dracula? Is the strory of a vampire that bites people and turns them into (transforms them in) vampires, too! Little Flame met Bram Stoker but he couldn’t tell us because Little Flame decided to stay at Ángela’s home until next week!
Then, Sara showed us a ‘Dominoes’ game she has made for us. We can play and learn ordinal numbers. We will play next Friday because in our last class we had to do so many things!

After that, we did the assessment test. It wasn’t difficult, was it?
We revised the things we learnt in the third term.
And we finished the class recording a video for Design for Change, in Spanish. Yes, in Spanish! You express your opinion about the project on the video. You also tell them about the market that was organized the term before and that you would like to donate (give) them the money you got in the market for their educational projects around the world.

After that, we revised the months of the year.
And we learnt to say dates.

Don’t forget to use ordinal numbers for the dates.
(the)21st(of)December 1984 (nineteen eighty- four)
December(the)21st 1984

·          When were you born?
·          I was born in 1986.
·          When’s your birthday?
·
My birthday is on 20th June.
·          When was David born?
·          He was born in December.
·          When was Sara born?
·          She was born on 29thMay.

Remember: in, with months and years; on, with dates and days of the week.
When do you go to English class?
I go to English lessons on Friday.
And we also use ordinal numbers to say which floor we live on.
We say this:
We write this:
César lives on the ground floor
César lives on the ground floor
David lives on the second floor.
David lives on 2nd floor.
Eva lives on the fifth floor.
Eva lives on 5th floor.
Don’t forget to revise for the test.
Test contents:
Listening – grammar exercises (actions, routines in/on/at, months, dates, adjectives) – reading – writing – speaking.

Homework: write the birthdays of four people in your family.

LADDER
We tried to finish our project: ‘Decorating the girls’ toilet’. We needed a ladder, the poster and adhesive tape. The poster was too long and we had to cut it a little! Then, we couldn’t stick it because it was falling off all the time! So, we couldn’t stick it to the wall! We’ll try again next Friday. But I think you cut the paper a little too much and now it’s going to be small…Let’s see!
And to finish the class, we had ‘Flipped classes’. We played ‘hangman’ with our ‘teaches’ and they taught us words related to summer and holidays.
