A Lesson to revise and to Finish our Project!

Friday 20th March
Hi everybody!
What did we do in class?

First, Ángela told us a tale (story) she had written. The main (the most important) character was Little Flame.
This is a summary of the story:
Ángela and Little Flame are playing in the park. They are with other dragons. There are some dinosaurs opposite then. Little Flame is scared. He thinks that dinosaurs eat dragons! He doesn’t want to play with them. He tells Ángela to go far (a long distance) from the dinos. But the dinos come towards them! (The dinos run in the direction of Ángela and Little Flame). Little Flame is very scared…Then, A dino says, “We want to play with you. We have jam and toast for lunch! We don’t eat
  dragons”.
Then, we listened to the results of your surveys to your friend’s family or to your parents’ family.

After that we revised what we have learnt in these two terms of the course.
We did some grammar exercises with ‘there is /there are’, prepositions and verbs for activities. We listened to Tim describing his family. We wrote about Sarah’s pets. And we answered the questions about family, pets and activities that our classmates asked.

Finally, we made the poster to decorate the girls’ toilet in the academy and finish our project for this term.

Don’t forget that next Friday we have a ‘Flea market’. Bring things to sell and money to buy something! Raúl and Luis brought things. They are in the classroom. We are going to give our games awards for the term and we are going to put up your poster next Friday and after that…Easter holidays!!!!

Have you Got Long Hair? Has she Got Wavy Hair? Has he Got a Beard?

Friday13th March

Hi kids! How’s everybody?
Sara, I hope you enjoyed your birthday party.

There’s very little left for Easter holidays but we still have two days of class and a lot of things to do and to enjoy!

We didn’t draw our poster because Sara left during the break. You drew some pictures on small pieces of paper. This is for you to get an idea of what you are going to draw and paint on the big poster. Painters first make small pictures and after that they paint a painting. This is called ‘sketch’. So, we made some sketches!
                                                A sketch of a dog
A   sketch of a house

Then, we continued with descriptions.
We did an exercise. We read the description of some people and glued his(for a man)/ her (for a girl) picture above the description.
He’s got short, curly hair. He’s got a moustache. He hasn’t got glasses.
She’s got long black hair. She’s got glasses.
What about you?

I have not got = I haven’t got
He has not got = he hasn’t got
She has got = She’s got
She has not got = She hasn’t got

And we had a survey. Survey: questions and answers.
We asked questions and completed a chart with the results.
And this is your homework: ask these questions to two people, (your mother, your father, a friend, two friends etc. Only two people). And fill in (complete) the chart. Then, you tell the class about the results of your survey.
Questions:
1.    What’s your name?  My name is Ben.
2.    How many people are there in your family? There are five people in my family.
3.    Have you got any brothers? Yes, I have.
4.    How many brothers have you got? I’ve got one brother.
5.    How old is he? He is six years old.

What Does Your Family Look Like?

Friday 6th March, 2015

Hi Kids!
What a beautiful weather!
It’s sunny and warm. It’s winter but there are a lot of flowers and it is like spring!

What happened to Eva? We don’t know. Eva and Little Flame are missing!

We started the class listening to the descriptions of your family trees.
I’m very bad at names, so I forgot your relatives’ (members of your family) names. But I remember Lenny’s family.
·         May is Lenny’s sister.
·         Frank is Lenny’s cousin.
·         Sam is Lenny’s baby brother.
We don’t say
May is the sister of Lenny NOOOOO!
We say
May
is
the
sister
of
Lenny.
May
is
Lenny’s
Sister.

We learnt how to describe people.
My mum has got long straight fair hair. She has got big brown eyes. She is tall and thin.
In the Monsters family, the father is Tom. He‘s got short red hair and a dirty nose! (how desgusting! =how horrible!). Her brother Tony’s got long brown hair, big red eyes and one white tooth!

Remember:
I have got = I’ve got    He has got = he’s got    She has got = She’s got
And for questions:
Have you got?
Has he got?
Has she got?
Yes, I have.
Yes, he has.
Yes, she has.
No, I haven’t.
No, he hasn’t.
No, she hasn’t.

Finally, we played ‘Guess the Mystery Classmate’.
One of you thought about a person in the class. The rest of the classmates made questions about his/her eyes, nose, hair, tall, short … And the person who guessed right, got 1 point!

We didn’t make the poster for our Design for Change project because we are waiting for Eva. If she doesn’t come next Friday, we will start with the poster. So, please bring felt tips or crayons.
