Thanksgiving Day!!!

Friday 28^th November, 2014

Hello everybody!

How are you today? It’s still raining!!!!

Raúl told us what he had done with Little Flame. They had breakfast, lunch and dinner together. They played a lot, especially on Friday because there wasn’t class at school. Then Raúl could play the whole day (all the day) with Little Flame.

We couldn’t finish the story yesterday. I forgot there was no class at school yesterday. That’s why Eva and César didn’t come to class and they have part of our story! So, we will finish next Friday.

Anyway, we started practising.

We are going to make a “little book” with your pictures and your handwriting; but you have to tell us the part you wrote. That’s why you are going to start learning the story, OK?

This is our story, except Eva and César’s part. You can start learning your part.

1.    (Raúl)

Hello, my name is Little Flame. I am one year old. I’m orange, red and black. I have a long tail and two black wings.

When I am angry, I throw flames…

This is my family:

This is my mum. Her name is Bea.

This is my dad. His name is Joaquín.

These are my sisters. Their names are Ana, Alicia, Miriam and Susi.

These are my brothers. Their names are Andrés, Mateo and David.

On Christmas Eve, Little Flame went to see Father Christmas to tell him the things that he wanted for Christmas. Then …

An elf says “Father Christmas has a cold. You have to distribute the presents”.

5.    (David)

Then, they said to Little Flame “You were very good. You can give the presents to the kids.” So, Little Flame took all the presents. He put them in the sledge of Father Christmas and … Presents for everyone!

When he woke up, Little Flame went to the Christmas tree and he found a present. The present was a little car. He was very happy and he played with it every day. Little Flame wishes you MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving is a very important date in the USA. We watched a video that told us the story of this day. And we also read about it and did a word search with vocabulary on Thanksgiving.

For homework you can do one of these two things:

Write four sentences (lines) about Thanksgiving Day or write four sentences (lines) with these words: pilgrims, turkey, feast and family. (One sentence with each word. Four in total)

Friday 21^st November

Hello everybody!

What day is it today? It’s Sunday.

What’s the date today? It’s 23^rd November, 2014.

What’s the weather like today? It’s raining.

 

On Friday Ángela brought our dragon back and she told us what they did together. Little Flame drank Coke and he was so nervous that he didn’t sleep!

Then, we reviewed prepositions with a game.

First, I gave the instructions. After me, you took turns to give instructions.

Sara, go in front of Raúl. Raúl, go behind César. David, go between Eva and Lucía. Ángela, go next to the door.

And also:

Put the rubber on the chair. Put the crayon under the table. Put the sharpener in the pencil case.

We described the bedroom in our books. Do you remember the vocabulary?

·           There is a computer on the table.

·           Where are the shelves? They’re on the wall. They are between the wardrobe and the bed.

·           Is there a violin? Yes, there is a violin.

·           Are the comics under the bed? No, they are on the shelf.

·           Is there one shelf? No, there are two shelves.

·           Is the pillow on the bedside table? No, it’s on the bed.

We listened and answered the questions.

And we continue the story with the dragon. Lucía wrote a lot of the story! Well done Lucía. Sara draw Little Flame’s family. A beautiful picture!

Planning a Story

Friday14^th November

Hello boys and girls! How are you?

·         What day is it today? Today is Saturday.

·         What’s the date today? It’s 15^th November, 2014.

·         What’s the weather like? It’s cold and windy!

It’s a good day to stay at home. Are you playing board games, computer games, reading or watching TV?

Yesterday Eva told us what “Little Flame” and she did the previous weekend.

Eva brought a picture. In the picture, Eva and Little Flame are sleeping. Then they have fried eggs and vegetables for lunch. After that, they play chess. Little Flame beat Eva! He was the winner!

Ángela didn’t tell us about her week because she forgot Little Flame at home. It doesn’t matter. Next Friday Ángela is going to bring the dragon and tell us what they did together. This time she is going to tell us more things because she was with Little Flame more time.

We listened to the descriptions of the animals. You describe an animal and we have to guess what animal it is.

Can you guess this animal?

It is very big. It has white fur. It has four big legs, a big body, a small round head, two small ears and a short tail. What animal is it? 2points if you guess and write it on the blog!

We draw the pictures from last week’s blog.

Only the fish, the beetle, the butterfly and the bird. We learnt the words scales, tail, fins, whiskers, wings, beak and feathers.

 WILD ANIMALS

For the moment we are going to stop talking about pets.

After this lesson we can ask and answer these questions.

Do you have any pets?	Yes, I have a dog. / No, I don’t.
What’s its name?	Its name is Max.
Does it have big ears?	No, its ears are small.
Tell me about it.	It’s black and white. It’s very big. It has a short tail.
Where is it now?	It’s in its basket.

We started making our story with Little Flame. This is going to be our project for this term.

 David, Lucía and Raúl  are going to describe the dragon: name, how old, colour, wings etc.

César and Eva are going to tell us what his country is, England, Spain. Where he lives and what he likes doing, hobbies.

Sara and Ángela are going to tell us about his family and his feelings: if he is happy, angry, sad, tired.

Remember we have to draw a picture for the different chapters

"Animal Puppets"

Hello boys and girls!

How are you? I’m fine, thank you.

·         What season are we in? We are in autumn but it is cold, it looks like winter!

·         What was the weather like yesterday? It was cold and rainy.

·         What’s the weather like today? It’s a little cold and sunny!

Little Flame.

Eva didn’t come to class on Friday. We don’t know what Little Flame did in Eva’s house. I ‘m sure they had a great time. Eva didn’t come to class but she brought our dragon. Ángela is happy because she can spend the week with him. Thank you, Eva.

We continued talking about animals in class.

There are farm animals, pets and wild animals.

Farm animals live on the farm. Pets live at home with us. Wild animals live in the jungle or in the zoo. They are dangerous!

Can you write the name of six farm animals, six pets and six wild animals?

We listened and described Sarah’s pets. (Not our Sara, another Sarah!)

Sarah has a dog. It has little ears and a short tail. It’s white. Its name is Max.

Sara has a bird. It has black feathers, two wings, a short tail and an orange beak. Its name is Myra.

Sara has two goldfish. They have small eyes, scales and a tail. They are orange. I can’t remember their names, can you? Their names are…

We made animal puppets.

 We used parts of the animals from a picture. There are elephant’s legs, paws, wings, different types of tails and arms. There is a beak, too. We cut out the parts of the animals. We draw the head and body of the animal on an envelope. And after that, we stuck the parts of the animals with glue.

Sara made a bird, Tweety! César made a monkey. Raúl, Ángela and David created their own animals, they were “animonsters”!

Why don’t you take a photo of your puppets and post it on the blog?

Then we described our puppets. It has two legs, it has a short tail, it has a beak and two wings!

While we worked we listened to animal songs. We listened to “Old McDonald’s”, “The sounds animals make” and others.

Homework. Describe an animal.

Example:

 Eagles. The eagle is a big bird. It has two long wings and a tail. It has small eyes and a small beak. It has feathers.

 .…and  that was all! You had 2 points for homework. César had 2 because he did the homework from last week. Sara had 3 because she did the homework I gave you and the questions on the blog.
