Jobs. What Does your Mother Do?

Friday 30th January, 2015

Hello kids! How is your week going?

Last week we had a new classmate. His name is Luis. Welcome Luis. Nice to meet you!

David brought a big picture of Little Flame and told us what they did last weekend. This week, our dragon is with Lucía. Let’s see what she will tell us tomorrow.
In class, we played ‘Hot Potato’
We say: ‘I do’ and throw the ball. The kid who gets the ball says ’he does’ and a new activity with I. For example ‘I swim’ and throws the ball again. And so on…

We also played this game with jobs and places of work. Doctor / hospital teacher/ school housewife / home etc.

Then, we spoke about jobs.
·         My father cuts hair. He’s a barber.
·         My mother flies planes. She’s a pilot.
·         My aunt brings the mail. She’s a mail    carrier.
·         My uncle serves food. He’s a waiter.

And we listened and revised what Simon does.

·         Simon never plays in the park on Mondays.
·         Simon always does his homework on Mondays.
·         Simon always plays in the park on Sundays.

We played a cards game that consisted in making sentences putting the words in order.

And we watched a video about ‘Design for Change’
Raúl suggested making changes in our classroom. Another kid suggested having individual pencil cases for every student. We’ll talk about more of these things tomorrow, OK?

Homework: write what Simon does during the week. Photocopy p.30 Exercise 10.
